Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

1 min read 14 views

Two-factor authentication adds extra security to your account. After setting it up, you will need both your password AND a code from your phone to log in.

  1. Go to your account settings.
  2. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (or go to the 2FA setup page).
  3. You will see a QR code on the screen.
  4. Open an authenticator app on your phone (like Google Authenticator or Authy).
  5. In the app, tap "Add Account" and scan the QR code.
  6. The app will start showing 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds.
  7. Type the current 6-digit code into the system and click Confirm.
  8. The system will show you recovery codes. Write these down and keep them somewhere safe! You will need them if you ever lose your phone.

What you'll see: Next time you log in, after entering your password, you will be asked for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

If something goes wrong:

  • Lost your phone -- Use one of your recovery codes to log in. Then set up 2FA again with your new phone.
  • Code doesn't work -- Make sure the time on your phone is correct. Authenticator codes are time-based, so your phone's clock needs to be accurate.
