"I can't find a book in the catalog"

What you might see: No results when you search for a book you know the library has.

Why this happens:

  1. Spelling -- You may have a typo in your search. Try searching by a shorter keyword.
  2. ISBN search -- Try searching by ISBN if you have it. You can use either the 13-digit or 10-digit ISBN.
  3. Not yet added -- The book may not have been added to the catalog yet. Check with the librarian.
  4. Status -- The book record may be in "Draft" or "Withdrawn" status. Librarians can check the catalog manager with status filters.
  5. Wrong campus -- If your school has multiple campuses, try removing the campus filter.

How to fix it:

  1. Try different search terms (shorter, different words, try the author's name).
  2. Remove all filters and search again.
  3. If you are a librarian, check the Catalog Manager and search with all statuses visible.
