Reviewing Acquisition Requests

1 min read 14 views

When students or teachers suggest books for the library to purchase, their requests appear here.

  1. Click Acquisition Requests in the sidebar menu.
  2. You will see a stats bar showing counts of pending, approved, and ordered requests.
  3. Use the filters to show requests by status (pending, approved, rejected, ordered, received).
  4. Use the search box to find requests by title, author, ISBN, or the name of the person who made the request.
  5. To review a request, click Review.
  6. Read the justification the person provided.
  7. Add your own review notes (optional).
  8. Click Approve or Reject.

After approval:

  • You can mark approved requests as "Ordered" when you include them in a purchase order.
  • You can also create a purchase order directly from approved requests -- the system will automatically fill in the details.
  • Mark requests as "Received" when the books arrive.

Request status flow:

  1. Pending -- New request, waiting for your review
  2. Approved -- You approved it, ready to be ordered
  3. Rejected -- You decided not to purchase this book
  4. Ordered -- Included in a purchase order
  5. Received -- The book has arrived
